Process Engineer
Position Summary:
The position, under the direction of the VP Operations, is primarily responsible for the designing, sourcing, and commissioning of equipment, creating manufacturing layouts, and for the developing, planning and implementing of manufacturing processes. Environmental protection, ergonomic and Health & Safety aspects are also a significant consideration. Work is multi-project oriented, all at various stages of development and completion at any given time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess existing data and processes for relevance and the adequacy of equipment used
- Design, source, install, and commission new equipment and train operators as required
- Monitor modifications and upgrades to existing equipment
- Conduct detailed analysis and evaluation of existing manufacturing processes, identify areas of improvement to increase efficiencies, reduce waste and cost
- Prepare reports, flow diagrams and charts
- Manage the cost and time constraints of projects
- Create manufacturing layouts for new products. Improve existing layouts to accommodate growth in volume
- Monitor, analyze and improve performance metrics such as cycle time, yield and scrap rates
- Responsible for risk assessments, including hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies and LOTO procedures for the health and safety of both staff and the wider community
- Collaborate closely with Production, Product Development, QA and other departments to monitor and improve the efficiency, output and safety of the plant
- Ensure processes work at an optimum level, at the correct rate and quality of output, in order to meet production requirements needs
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting experience and ongoing training to Production and Maintenance staff
Qualifications:
- Mechanical Engineering degree or three-year Engineering College diploma and a minimum of 3 years work experience
- Strong knowledge of process optimization techniques, lean manufacturing principles, stream mapping and statistical analysis
- Proficient in the use of all relevant software, including CAD
- Experience with process automation and control systems
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written

Special Projects Assembler
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for manufacturing highly customized products by machining and assembling wood, aluminum, glass, vinyl, hardware and other components within the window and/or door departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bending of wood, vinyl and aluminum to a variety of radii, using both manual and CNC machinery
- Machining of curved wood components
- Precise cutting of various profiles
- Assemble wood, aluminum, or vinyl special/curved windows using a variety of hand and power tools, including pneumatic hand tools, saws as well as utilizing glue, screws, nails or other fasteners and other light woodworking machinery
- Ability to produce sales samples and showroom display walls
- Build new product prototypes as required, work with R&D department on custom product projects
- Inspect all products for quality conformance
- Ability to read and interpret detailed shop drawings and work instructions.
- Able to work independently and set priorities
- Possess the self-discipline and motivation to work independently with minimum supervision to ensure product is built/assembled in the required time frame
- Ability to perform heavy lifting
- Must be flexible to work at various stations throughout the facility
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years’ work experience within an assembly/manufacturing environment, preferably in the window/door, glazing or wood working industry
- Needs to have good understanding of residential construction processes
- Strong communication skills – verbal, written and listening
- Works accurately with a high attention to detail and focus on producing quality product
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency, strong organization and time management skills to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and interruptions
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to use and care for a variety of power tools
- Displays a positive attitude and strong problem-solving skills to address production issues in a timely manner
- Willing to learn and open to new challenges

DZ Drivers
Position Summary:
Golden Windows is looking to hire DZ Driver who takes pride in the results they deliver, cares about making a difference and understands how rewarding working with a great team can be. The successful candidate requires the ability to perform physical duties such as lifting up to 50lbs unassisted.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading customer orders at job sites
- Delivering customer orders
- Providing courteous, accurate and on-time deliveries
- Developing strong customer relationships
- Safe and efficient operation of our delivery vehicles
- Ensuring delivery vehicle is properly maintained
- Work with other team members to facilitate effective customer service
Qualifications:
- Possess a valid Class DZ License
- Minimum of five (5) years current driving experience
- Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent
- Experience with straight truck
- Basic knowledge of truck maintenance

Showroom Sales Representative - Kitchener
Position Summary:
The Showroom Sales Representative, under the direction of the Regional Sales Manager, is primarily responsible for greting customers and providing guidance and advice on the purchase of windows and doors for new construction or renovation projects. The Showroom Sales Representative will generate sales, advise customers on the use and care of merchandise and provide advice concerning specialized products or services. This role will participate in merchandising and promotional activities and must maintain a high level of customer service at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to in-person, telephone and email customer inquiries promptly and professionally
- Provide detailed product information and make visual presentations to retail customers
- Review customer plans and requirements thoroughly to determine window/door requirements
- Provide support and direction to customers to ensure that customer’s needs are addressed in a timely fashion and issues are resolved satisfactorily
- Keep showroom organized and tidy and make merchandizing recommendations
- Prepare quotes for customers to review and follow up to get final sale
- Provide support to Territory Sales Representatives
- Provide support for trade shows as required
- Provide break/lunch coverage for Reception and other duties as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Training within the Construction Trades, Construction Technology program or Interior Design program would be beneficial
- Minimum of three (3) years proven sales experience within building trades, preferably millwork
- Experience reading blueprints and completing material take-offs considered an asset
