Material Linefeeder/Receiver (Day Shift or Afternoon Shift)

Position Summary:

The position is responsible for receiving and warehousing product and supplying the production lines in a timely, efficient and safe manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect department raw material request forms and retrieve material from warehouse (i.e. door slabs, aluminum, vinyl, fastening devices, etc.) and supply materials to requesting departments
  • Work as a team to properly warehouse materials for production
  • Assist and/or operate overhead crane to unload glass truck

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years previous experience in receiving/material handling required
  • Forklift license is preferred but not mandatory
  • Must be in good phyiscal shape as job requires heavy lifting and extensive walking throughout the production floor
  • Ability to work independently, effective communication, time-management and organizational skills
  • Work with a sense of urgency, strong retention of information and attention to detail (accuracy for completing paperwork)

Working Conditions:

  • Production environment where you will be regularly exposed to noise and lifting
  • Personal protective equipment (CSA approved footwear, hearing and eye protection) must be worn
  • Day shift (7:00am - 3:30pm) or Afternoon shift (3:00pm - 11:30pm)

Door Assembler

Position Summary:

The position is responsible for assembling wood, aluminum, and vinyl door frames, and installing door slabs, insulated glass and transoms into frames.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate pneumatic hand tools and other wood working machinery and hand power tools (i.e. mitre saw, dual saw, table saw, shapers, nail gun, drill, etc.)
  • Produce quality product while maintaining required pace
  • Able to read metric measuring tape and produce accurate results consistently
  • Other duties as assigned, including acting as back-up operator on the Vega Door Cutter
  • Ability to repeatedly lift heavy product
  • Excel in dynamic, team-based environment

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills: verbal, written and listening
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to proficiently use various hand tools
  • Strong attention to detail and focus to ensure accurate and quality output
  • Ability to lift product with a weight of 50+ lbs
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency, strong organizational and time management skills to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and interruptions
  • Displays positive attitude and strong problem solving skills to address and resolve production issues in a timely fashion
  • Willing to learn and open to new challenges

Working Conditions:

  • Production environment where you will be regularly exposed to noise and lifting
  • Personal protective equipment (CSA approved footwear, hearing and eye protection) must be worn
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week and available for Day Shift (6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.) or Afternoon Shift (3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.)

DZ Drivers

Position Summary:

Golden Windows is looking to hire DZ Drivers to compliment our team. The successful candidate requires the ability to perform physical duties such as lifting up to 50 lbs, unassisted, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching and walking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading customer orders at job sites
  • Delivering customer orders
  • Providing courteous, accurate and on-time deliveries
  • Developing strong customer relationships
  • Safe and efficient operation of our delivery vehicles
  • Ensuring delivery vehicle is properly maintained
  • Work with other team members to facilitate effective customer service

Qualifications:

  • Possess a valid Class DZ License
  • Minimum of five (5) years current driving experience
  • Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Experience with straight truck
  • Basic knowledge of truck maintenance
  • Have excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Clean drivers abstract
  • Excellent customer service skills, and
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

Working Conditions:

  • Irregular hours, Monday to Friday, occasional overtime
  • Frequent interruptions with changing priorities and deadlines
  • Working in extreme weather conditions

Production Assembler - Days & Afternoons

Position Summary:

The position is responsible for assembling wood products such as window sashes, doors, boxes using glue, staples, screws, bolts or other fasteners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret detailed shop drawings
  • Able to read metric measuring tape and produce accurate results consistently
  • Comfortable working with pneumatic hand tools and other wood working machinery and hand power tools (i.e. mitre saw, dual saw, table saw, shapers, nail gun, drill, etc.)
  • Ability to repeatedly lift heavy product
  • Excel in a dynamic, team-based environment

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in carpentry and cabinet making is desirable but not mandatory
  • Previous experience in window or glass production is desirable but not mandatory
  • Minimum grade 12 or equivalent
  • Must be in good physical shape as job requires repetitive medium to heavy lifitng
  • Demonstrates ability to work as a team and independently
  • Attention to detail is paramount

Production Supervisor - Afternoons

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for achieving production targets in a timely, efficient and safe manner while ensuring quality standards and positive employee morale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure employee safety by teaching safe work practices, administering safety policies and procedures and ensuring safety issues are addressed in a timely manner
  • Promote the manufacture of a quality product by ensuring employees are trained, following procedures and completing quality checks. Initiate corrective actions as required
  • Ensure employees are being productive and meeting production goals
  • Identify and execute activities to improve production efficiencies, build a cohesive team and drive employee engagement
  • Foster positive employee relations through fair and consistent application of policies and professional and respectful personal interactions with employees
  • Lead problem-solving activities in collaboration with employees in your work area and support departments to fix problems and make improvements
  • Complete required paperwork in a timely manner
  • Enforce company policies and procedures
  • Provide backup supervisory support to General Group Leaders in their absence

Position Requirements:

  • 5+ years leadership/supervisory experience in manufacturing
  • Previous window/door manufacturing or wood working experience an asset
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrates strong time-management skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills: verbal, written and listening
  • Detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong sense of urgency in order to meet production and organizational goals
  • Computer skills: Excel, Word, Outlook, Payworks

Mill Worker

Position Summary:

The position is responsible for general labour in the mill department including wood piling, using a large bandsaw and upcut jump saw and other general labour duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate pneumatic hand tools and other wood working machinery and hand power tools (i.e. mitre saw, dual saw, table saw, shapers, nail gun, drill, etc.)
  • Cut block shims using a large bandsaw
  • Cut side rips on an upcut jump saw
  • Assist in moving large lifts of lumber onto and off of carts
  • Assist in piling medium to heavy lumber boards
  • Able to read metric measuring tape and produce accurate results consistently
  • Excel in dynamic, team-based environment

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a mill environment is considered a strong asset
  • Strong communication skills: verbal, written and listening
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to proficiently use various saws and hand tools
  • Strong attention to detail and focus to ensure accurate and quality output
  • Ability to regularly lift product with a weight of 50+ lbs
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency, strong organizational and time management skills to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities and interruptions
  • Displays positive attitude and strong problem solving skills to address and resolve production issues in a timely fashion
  • Willing to learn and open to new challenges
